5:30-6:30pm ~ Forum
United States Capitol Visitor Center
Room - SVC 200-201
Presented by the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation
Co-hosted by the National Institute for Civil Discourse
On the 20th Anniversary of his ground-breaking report, Citizens and Politics: A View from Main Street America, Richard C. Harwood will unveil the findings of a new study. The Work of Hope is a book detailing the feelings and aspirations of Americans, suggesting concrete ways to end the acrimony that holds our public discourse hostage and to tap people’s innate goodness to counter the negative conditions that beset our nation.
This event kicks off a dialogue of prominent national church leaders gathered June 27-28 in Washington, DC. The dialogue, “Faith, Politics and Our Better Angels: A Christian Dialogue on Public Discourse,” is a project of The Faith & Politics Institute, in conjunction with the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics, the National Institute for Civil Discourse, and The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation.
Registration Required for Members of the Public. Congressional RSVP Requested
